An Interesting Comparison

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peep;
She thought that I was tucked up
in my bedroom fast asleep.

Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white;
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peep;
She thought that I was tucked up
in my bedroom fast asleep.

Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white;
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

Versus...

I saw mommy strangling Santa Claus
Underneath the starry sky last night
She didn't see me creep
Out the door to have a peep
She thought that I was tucked up
in my bedroom fast asleep.

Then, I saw mommy kicking Santa Claus
Right between his chubby legs last night
Oh it must have been a sin
Where had the police been
With mommy kicking Santa Claus last night?

I saw mommy killing Santa Claus
Underneath the starry sky last night
She didn't see me creep
Out the door to have a peep
She thought that I was tucked up
in my bedroom fast asleep.

Then, I saw mommy bury Santa Claus
Underneath the patio last night
She didn't hear a peep
Until she heard me weep
And decided I belonged with him

This has been another fine installment of "It Came From the Internet." Come back next week to see if I've bothered to learn the chords to that song and record it. Scary.

My left knee basically comped out on me on my run today.

If I have to quit training becase of it I will be more than a little upset.

In more positive news, I finally restringed my guitar and am having a great time playing.

Injuries suck. That's the moral of the story.

Peace out.

About The Party [repost from other LJ]

To Everyone Who Attended The Party -

Thanks for coming! I wasn't really expecting it to go the 3AM, but I am glad it did. I, for one, had a really good time and hope everyone else did as well. I hope it met everyone's expectations - even if there were some things I would have done differently, if given another chance. I plan to have one next year as well (lol), so mark your calendars. Hopefully it won't be a month after my actual birthday, though. There's one more thing I want to say before I wrap this entry up: I want to extend a few special thanks to a few of the guests.

An Extra Special Thanks To:

Blayze, for providing the Wii (which more or less stole the show)
Brad, for providing the Xbox 360 (Gears of War / Halo 2, wewt)
Evan, for providing the TV (which was really, really useful)
My Mom, for helping with the food and drink (lol)
Jon and Rodrigo, for making it to the party (seriously, that was appreciated)
Everyone who came bearing gifts, for bearing gifts. Most excellent.
Myself, for having a birthday party in the first place, even if it was a month late.

For Everyone That Couldn't Make It -

I'm sorry circumstances didn't allow you to attend the party, whatever they might have been. In any case, I hope to see you at next year's party (which will hopefully be a little more robust in the planning). Happy trails, happy holidays, and if all else fails...

SHAKE YOUR WIIMOTE LIKE YOU MEAN IT!!!!!!!

lol.

Ok, after Purchasing Certain Products Recently, I thought I would share my opinions on them instead of doing my reading for humanities core. These will just be quick little "out of the box" tid-bits because to make a full review I would need more time with each item. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. If you don't, that's cool too. For my own records though, I will continue. In no particular order:

The Apple Wired Keyboard ($30):
Pros:
- Large, comfortable keys
- Responsive buttons (which is important for PC DDR, lol)
- 2 USB Ports directly on the unit
- Sleek Apple Styling
Cons:
- Keys don't have the same "click" older keyboard users may be used to
- Stains easily
- the USB ports are not powered
Why Should You Care?:
- It's a nice addition to your Mac (if it didn't already come with one or your old one broke).
- It could add that extra bit of style to your drab PC.
Overall Rating:
4.5 / 5

The Redesigned Apple iPod Shuffle ($80)
Pros:
- Small, sleek packaging
- Sturdy buttons
- Clip built into the unit
- Great to work out with
- The Price
Cons:
- The headphones are trash
- The unit is not completely scratch / dent resistant (I.E. you better not drop it)
- There is no display
- There is no way to make playlists; it's random or in a preset order (song name, etc.)
Why should you care?:
- The iPod craze now has a relatively cheap alternative
- It's great for working out
- You could probably eat it and not need serious medical attention it's so small.
Overall Rating:
3.5/5

The XBox 360 Pro ($400):
Pros:
- Next Gen Graphics and (in some cases, not all) next gen gameplay
- Amazing wireless controller technology
- Built in DVD player
- HD support
- HD DVD accessory (so you aren't forced to buy into the tech if you don't want to)
- XBox Live / Arcade
- Most readily available of all the next gen consoles
Cons:
- The price
- Expensive Controllers ($50 a pop + at least $12 for a rechargable battery)
- GIGANTIC plug-in (you could seriously use it as a mace)
- No motion recognition technology in the remote
Why should you care?:
- It's not as expensive as a PS3
- It's much easier to find than a PS3
- Gears of War
- Four words: Guitar Hero + Xbox Live
Overall Rating:
4.5/5

Gears of War, Collector's Edition (XBox 360, $70)
Pros:
- Amazing graphics, even on non-HDTVs
- Intense gameplay and soundtrack
- LAN multiplayer support
- Xbox Live Multiplayer support
Cons:
- The dodging and cover mechanics can get hairy (Notably when you fight the Berzerker)
- The voice acting is hard-boiled (Read: terrible)
- Easy mode really is a push-over
- You can take or leave the single-player campaign story
Why should you care?:
- The Gameplay
- You get an art book? (lol)
Rating:
5/5

Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy (Xbox 360, $50)
Pros:
- It's Star Wars, but more playful
- The game has massive replay value and collectables
- Interactive lego pieces make the world feel like a giant playground
- You can design your own character (though this feature is limited by the legos themselves)
- Force powers, bitch.
- Who wouldn't want to rip lego arms off as a lego Chewie? (This feature NEVER gets old)
- You can get it used
- Much of the environments can be destroyed
Cons:
- The flying levels are, honestly, a little wonky
- You can die fairly easily, but the only penalty is lost collectables
- Even after you've beaten a level, you have to wait for scrolling text to finish before you play
Why Should You Care?:
- It's one of the best Star Wars games to date
- The cinematics can be quite funny and it's still Star Wars at heart
- If you played the previous version, you can transfer your save data and KILL JAR-JAR
Rating:
4/5

In Case You Were Wondering...

I don't want to trivialize the matter, but I don't want things to be clouded up, either. All I know is that my vision is being stupid right now, and that I want to go to bed. As a direct result of this, I am sending myself directly to bed after I finish writing this entry.

I am very glad to be home, and back in my own bed. Plane rides are, with few exceptions, one of the worst places to be (if you fly coach, that is).

The reason why I had to reschedule the party was a previously aforementioned family emergency. The reason for my sudden departure was the passing of my Grandmother, Patricia Balazs. I cannot give an exact cause of death, because I am not completely sure. I can, however, tell you that a broken heart was most certainly one of the causes. My grandfather, James Balazs, passed a few years ago. Grandma's condition had slowly deteriorated since then. We comfort ourselves in the warmth of our memories; even if we are confronted with the loss of our Mother, Sister, Grandmother, etc, we carry on. We, the living, must use our strength so that those who have gone before us may live on in our hearts and our minds...

I have disabled comments on this entry because I don't think this is the best forum for such a matter. Any prayers or well-wishes for my family, and especially for my Grandmother, would be vastly appreciated. Good night and best wishes to you and yours - may we never forget that which is truly dear to us.

Alright everyone - if you're not on Facebook then you probably haven't heard about this. My official birthday party will be November 11th, a Saturday. The party will commence after I get home from work so...yeah. It will feature Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War (hopefully), and any grand schemes you would like to see enacted. If you are interested in going, need directions to my house, or have a scheme, feel free to message me. Or call me. That works too.

The Facebook Address:
http://uci.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2216029563

Consider this an invitation.

Oh, and if you are happen to see this message and you are someone I cannot easily contact like Saba G., please consider yourself invited and/or message me. Thanks.

Oh, and before I forget, costumes are not expected. Also, please bring some cash in case we go somewhere. You have been warned. lol. :P

OMFG...college.

Just when you thought you would have enough time or even enough of a life to work, and go to college, and work out well...you may very well have your brain explode. I am finding out the hard way that there is simply not enough time (or in some cases the energy) to do all of the things I want to do. Horray for the weekend when I can pretend to do nothing and catch up on all my homework instead of relaxing. I really need to get on top of the whole homework thing. Oh, and, internet in the class is only a good idea if you can't use it when you should be paying attention to the lecture. lol.

How can anyone support a man who has (though not single-handedly) lead to unwarranted death?

Words are irrelevant. Action is a much more accurate judge of a man's character.
